Confusing Paragraph

Never appear in my mind that analyze paragraph is rather difficult than make it.

Even though I understand the characteristic of each paragraph, but I have difficulty to analyze the paragraph. Not only me, but also most of my friends are still confused about paragraph. For example, when Yogi presented his paragraph, we did not know what paragraph is it. Some of friends guessed that the paragraph is explanation, and the others guessed that the paragraph is definition paragraph. And yogi said that his paragraph was descriptive paragraph. If his paragraph is descriptive, it should be able to be imagined by the reader, but his paragraph can’t be. At first, I think that his paragraph is definition paragraph because it definites “Indonesia”.  Then, when we analyzed together, there was something wrong with Yogi’s paragraph. we can’t find the main idea. We thought that his paragraph consists of many topic sentences. Finally, we decided that his paragraph was not a good paragraph.

I like this topic. It’s new knowledge for me because I did not know about seven types of paragraph before. I have known that we can identify the paragraph based on the purpose of the paragraph. And I have understood that narrative text is telling story, even fiction or nonfiction. And it always explains the chronology event. But, in miss vita’s file, narrative has primary and secondary support sentence that I have not understood yet.

I can understand about descriptive text that has purpose to describe something that can be imagined by the reader. And Insya Allah I have understood about process analysis, classification, cause and effect paragraph, and definition paragraph. But, I think I feel difficult to identify argumentative paragraph, comparison & contrast paragraph and illustration paragraph. I am still confused about illustration paragraph because I do not know the purpose of this paragraph.

I hope I can know more after next meeting… Amiin….

I’m in the third semester now. And in this semester I meet new friends, new lecturers and get many challenging things. In the previous semester, I got a lot of knowledge that I hope it will be beneficial for this semester.

Wow!!! The first time attend to writing class I feel little shock because I have to make a blog that I never make it. Honestly, I can not use technology well, in Indonesia is “Gaptek”, therefore I was late to make it. However, I feel happy because of this task, now I can make blog and this is my first blog.
